JAX BEACH. Though the bistro side of the business is no longer with us, A La Carte Bistro still manages to thrill taste buds between their catered events. Stop by their Lil' Gourmet Shop ­ yes, the cute yellow cottage ­ to pick up your favorite gourmet bite to-go. Their New England-style box lunches are, of course, big hits thanks to ditties like lobster rolls, fried Ipswich clam rolls, chowder or even a juicy jumbo hot dog. Plan ahead, though, as their to-go lunches are available only on Mondays and Tuesdays ­ but, oh, what a start to the week!

ARLINGTON. Arielle's doubles as a fine dining experience and a popular networking place for young professionals. The wide open plan of the main dining room allows tables to be positioned so that you can see the stage (and easily access the hardwood dance floor from wherever you sit), allowing your party to fully enjoy the night's entertainment, whether it's stand-up comedy, poetry, live jazz or a DJ mixing hot dance numbers. As for the fare, Arielle's kitchen serves up delicious versions of seafood bisque, grilled and broiled fish, lobster tail and even certified Black Angus steaks.

Local rags (and locals in general) hold this Atlantic Beach in particularly high esteem when it comes to getting a good, old-fashioned breakfast ­ the hearty sort that'll stick with you until it's dinnertime, regardless of active you are over the course of the day. The special includes two eggs, toast or muffin, fruit, grits or hashbrowns, and your choice of meat; however, they also serve up delish buttermilk pancakes, blueberry pancakes, omelets, Belgian waffles, breakfast sandwiches and eggs benedict. Best of all, their most expensive breakfast ditty (steak, two eggs and pancakes) tops out at just $10!

JAX BEACH. The assortment of unbeatable sandwiches and home-style vegetables on the lunch menu has made this a popular place for a satisfying lunch. A favorite on the menu, the grilled chicken with a side of potato salad is guaranteed to leave your belly content. AVONDALE. Tantalizing dishes grace the menu at this popular establishment. Whether you have an enjoyable lunch in mind or a casual business dinner, Biscotti's won't let you down. If your stomach is already rumbling before you finish reading the starters, wait until you see the entrees. How do flank steak sandwiches, honey glazed salmon BLTs, large fresh salads and unique gourmet pizzas sound? Make sure you head to Biscotti's early, because they don't accept reservations and tables tend to fill quickly.
